14th Invasion

[Today after school lets out, Squid Girl can be found on the front lawn of 452 Stone Street doing some combat practice - or rather, that's what she thinks she's doing.  To the casual observer, it looks more like she's dangerously flailing ten kitchen knives all over the place with her tentacles while yelling various things.]

"Hah!  Take that!  Feel the power of my Ten Bladed Whirlwind technique!"

[She alternates through a couple of different routines: stabbing wildly at thin air, hurling the knives into a nearby tree before reaching out with her tentacles to draw them back out again, and just spinning them around in a dangerous circle all around her body.  Someone might want to stop her before she hurts herself or somebody else.]

"I supposed I could help you out."

[Miki jumps from the porch to Squid Girls yard, landing in a fighting stance about 10 feet from where Squid girl is standing.]

"All right, you asked for it!"

[And she rushes straight at Miki, knives a-flailin'.]

[With alarming speed Miki closes in on the squid, narrowly avoiding any stray knives, save for a few dramatic scratches. She she closes in, she appears to be throwing a punch which (if she is able to make it close enough to squiddy), she will pull in towards her chest at the last second, turning it into a headbutt.]

[Yup, totally didn't see that one coming. Miki's much more experienced at this sort of thing than Squid Girl is, so she pretty much lays her out flat in the snow.]

"Ow!"

[Miki begins to spin around to plant her heel hard into squid girls face but noticing that the small girl is probably in a lot of pain she brings it down next to squiddies head, using the force to somersault her over the girl. She lands, looking at squid girl a bit embarrassed and chuckling nervously.]

I guess you aren't up to my level yet. Ar you ok?

"I'm fine!"

[Miki moves back into a fighting pose.]

Oh, good.

[Miki charges Squid Gril with violent intent.]

[This time she actually employs a bit of strategy, coming in with the knives from several different angles at once. She keeps two tentacles free to defend if Miki happens to get too close, and otherwise tries to stay mobile.]

[As squid girl dodges, Miki slows down enough to let one of the knife tentacles get close enough to her that she can dodge it and grab it right behind the knife, making use of the capture tentacle and knife to perry the a number of the incoming knives.]

[Squid Girl valiantly attempts to work her way past Miki's knife assault with some of her other tentacles, while she brings two of them around from opposite sides to try to sweep her feet out from under her.]

[Miki jumps backwards away from the two tentacles, far enough to pull her captive tentacle taught. Miki swings it around, ideally pulling the squid with it and smashing her into the side of the house.]

"Whoa!"

[As she's flung mercilessly through the air, Squid Girl quickly extends another tentacle to wrap around the tree growing in the front yard, halting the momentum of the throw to avoid a collision with the house. The problem is, now she's sort of stuck there in midair, hung between the one Miki's holding and the one she just saved herself with.]

[This causes a break in Miki's fighting concentration. She stares at the stuck squid for a second, looks to the tentacle she is holding and twangs it like a guitar string. She finds this highly amusing since she begins laughing mirthfully as she twangs away tunelessly on the captive appendage.]

"H-hey! Cut it out!"

[Flailing there in midair.]

[Miki does not cut it out, and is in fact stretching the tentacle to try and get other notes.]

This is fun. This rubber hair is pretty neat.

[Miki begins shaking it up and down mindless as she talks, causing a sine wave to travel up and down the tentacle]

Aren't most monster person costumes made of rubber? What is this made out of then?

"Th-they're real!"

Really? I've always wanted to fight a giant squid.

[Miki grins as she stretches the tentacle as far as she can and lets go.]

[quickly extends a few tentacles to wrap around the tree and pull herself in so she doesn't hit the side of the house]

[Miki slows from her charge until she is only a few feet from the crumpled Squid Girl. She is laughing mirthfully.]

Wow, I guess you do need training.
