[Squid Girl's been getting progressively more annoyed with all this prom talk. As near as she can tell from listening in on phone conversations and around town, it's some weird human mating dance, which means she's not interested at all. Instead, she's been derping around town like she do, and has discovered the wonder of fire hydrants. Don't ask why or how, but she can be found in one of several situations:

1. Somehow, and for some reason, Squid Girl has managed to rip the cap off the side of the fire hydrant! Unfortunately, she's standing directly in front of it when this happens, resulting in a situation rather like this:

2. She's recovered from the earlier surprise attack by the jet of water inside the hydrant, and has discovered that she's able to aim the water if she sits behind it and uses her tentacles to turn it from side to side. Unfortunately, she's not really looking at what she's aiming at, so it's very possible that your character is about to be hit with a pressurized blast of water. Look out!

3. Having replaced the cap on the side of the hydrant, Squid Girl has now torn the top off instead. There is water spraying up into the air all over the place, and she's dressed in a white swimsuit running around like an excited little kid playing in a sprinkler in their back yard. Except it's a huge sprinkler shooting water several feet into the air at high speeds, so it's even better.]

That seemed like a rather bad situation.. Um.. how did you get caught up in that?

The water started shooting out when I took that metal cap off!

A-ah, I think it usually does that when you take it off.. Not that I've actually tried it before.

If I can learn to harness this thing's power, it'll make a great weapon!

You want to use a fire hydrant as a weapon? B-but those are supposed to be for public safety, right?

I've never seen anybody else using them! They had their chance!

I think it's because they're not meant to be used as weapons.. Um, you might hurt someone with them.. and that wouldn't be good, right?

But that's what weapons do.

But.. it isn't really good to use weapons, right? I think we should all try to get along in this city..

[Pointing dramatically!]

That's too naive! Not everyone is gonna feel the same way! What happens when you get surprise attacked?

[ SHE'S BEING POINTED AT, TRY TO DODGE-- o-oh wait, it's just pointing. ]

O-oh! That'd be really bad.. A-at that time, I would.. [ She pauses hesitantly for a moment. ] I would..

... I'm sorry. I don't know what I'd do.

Exactly! And that's why you have to be ready.

But.. you can't be ready for a surprise attack, right? If you'd be ready for a surprise attack, it wouldn't be a surprise anymore..

But you can at least have a weapon with you so you can fight back after you know about it!

O-okay! I understand..!

[ She nods, but still nervously. ]

In that case, could you teach me..?

It will be a long, difficult, and rigorous training, and you'll have to do exactly as I say.

I-I promise to do my best. You seem like you know a lot about all of this, after all, so I'll do my best to listen..

Your first task is to find a good weapon! Come back when you've done that, and we will begin the next stage of your training!

I think I understand, but.. What sort of weapon would you consider a good weapon? After all, I.. don't really know a lot about weapons..

I use swords most of the time, since I can carry a lot of them. It's important to play to your strengths! You might be better with something else.

U-understood..! I'll try to find a weapon that's suitable for someone like me, whatever it is.

Maybe a gun!

[ Oh, that idea is enough to freak her out again. ]

... A.. g-g-g-gun? I-I'm sorry, I d-don't really think I'd be able to handle something like that..

Why not? Lots of people around here have them. They don't look very hard to use, either.

They're a little.. um, dangerous. Maybe something like one of Doraemon's gadgets would suit me more.
