24th Invasion

[Action; in and around 452 Stone Street]

[For anyone living on, hanging out near, or walking down Stone Street today - there is something happening on at 452 Stone Street that you may wish to investigate.  The windows to the house are open, and the sound of a small explosion rings through the air, followed by the surprised and panicked scream of a certain little squid-child.  There is now black smoke billowing out of the living room window, and the sound of coughing.  After a few seconds, Squid Girl's head pops out of the window as she tries to get some fresh air into her lungs.]

Aaaaaahhhhh... what's wrong with that stupid thing!

[Gat rubs his forehead, trying to process all this. A girl from a race of sea-dwelling humanoids that seem to have no technology or developed civilization of their own ...]

If'n'ya don't mind my askin', how'd you wind up ownin' things like that there video game console if ya'll didn't even have cities of your own? Or th' 3D television you mentioned, for that matter.

Oh, it's not mine, it's Eiko's. I just use it all the time, so maybe the town thought it belonged to me.

She's another one of th' squid folk, I take it.

[identity profile] moemoetentacles.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
No, she's a human. I live at her house. I've made it my base for the invasion.

[identity profile] nanocerancowboy.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[Just. Staring. Incredulously.]

... Invasion?

[identity profile] moemoetentacles.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Right! I'm going to invade the humans and make them listen!

[identity profile] nanocerancowboy.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[Gat would be concerned by this if Squid Girl had given him a more threatening impression. At the moment though, he's mired in trying to keep his sanity from being washed out in the tide.]

Your people don't sound like th' type to have a standin' army. Or navy, I reckon would be th' more appropriate term.

[identity profile] moemoetentacles.livejournal.com 2011-10-13 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Well... not yet! I just haven't organized one yet.

[identity profile] nanocerancowboy.livejournal.com 2011-10-15 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
More to th' point, if you're goin' to conquer th' human nations, why're you livin' with a human back home?

[identity profile] moemoetentacles.livejournal.com 2011-10-15 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
It's emotional invasion! It's so tricky she doesn't even realize I'm doing it!

... That will be Squid Girl's quote for Gat's CR page. XD

[identity profile] nanocerancowboy.livejournal.com 2011-10-15 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Gat raises an eyebrow.]

That don't make no sense to me.

[identity profile] moemoetentacles.livejournal.com 2011-10-15 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
...That's because my plan is just too brilliant!

[identity profile] nanocerancowboy.livejournal.com 2011-10-15 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
How do you emotionally invade a person?

[Gat wants to see how Squid Girl explains this one.]

[identity profile] moemoetentacles.livejournal.com 2011-10-15 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
By making friends with them! Then they'll be sympathetic to your cause! You don't win a war without winning people over to your side, you know.

[identity profile] nanocerancowboy.livejournal.com 2011-10-15 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
Alright, "winning of hearts an' minds." That's a bit more sensible soundin' than "emotional invasion."

[It also has less unfortunate implications!]

If you're willin' to live an' make friends with humans, though, why do you look down on 'em?

Want to move your next comment down to a new thread so we don't break the page?

[identity profile] moemoetentacles.livejournal.com 2011-10-15 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Right! It's a much better plan. Slower, but they definitely won't see it coming later on.

[There's a bit of silence here as she considers that question.]

U-um... I thought I already explained that.
