[Ever since the other day at the park with Percy Jackson, Squid Girl's been in an uncommonly good mood.  She finally has a reminder of home in the form of the salt water spring he created using his crazy ocean powers.  So today she's heading off to the park for a nice brisk swim, stars in her eyes and looking just happy as anything.  Unfortunately, when she gets there, the lake is completely back to normal and there's no salt water to be found at all.]

"Hey... what the heck?  Where's the new salt water lake?  Why's it back to normal?"

[Later on, she goes looking for Percy, only to find him droned.  Unfortunately, nobody's really explained to her how droning works at this point, so she's left feeling angry and sad and confused.  She's not sure what else to do, so she just heads back home and gets on the phone.]

[Phone; unfiltered]

"Okay, who messed up the salt water pond and brainwashed Percy?  He barely even recognized me!"

They said I came back after a couple of days. I'm sure he'll bring the lake back if you ask him to!

Mmhm. You gotta... Look. You gotta believe in your friends, okay? I'm just starting to, but... I think it really helps in a lot of ways. Then when he comes to his senses, you can honestly tell him, "I knew you'd come back! I've been waiting, you know!"

... Heeey. Cheer up! No one would wanna follow orders from a mopey Squid Girl.

"The bottle of salt water I took from the spring Percy made is empty now, too."

[There's a short pause.]

"It even still smells like the ocean."

[naicha]

... The ocean's so far away from us now, isn't it?

I miss it, too. After all, it's where you and I both belong. It's too bad. I wanted to meet whoever brought that piece of home back to us for a bit!

_{[ o-oh she made it sound like he was a goner. She doesn't think he is, really! ]}

-well, I'll definitely get to talk to him once he comes back.

<sub>[ She felt the same way even when she didn't recognize anyone the day she arrived. If they didn't miss her because she was gone for a couple of days - wait, no, they should have! They totally should have been worried! She's too used to not being worried about, sheesh.

But you know what I think? I think that no matter what happens between Squid Girl and Percy, they'll always end up being friends. Because he's a friend of the ocean, too. Right?
