[Squid Girl can be found at the park today, marveling at this white stuff falling from the sky and shivering from the cold.  She hasn't bothered to bundle up all that much, because she's used to cold deep-sea temperatures.  Unfortunately, she doesn't have her squidlike resilience to low temperature or high pressure back yet, and this damnable human body just isn't doing the trick.  But that isn't the first thing on her mind - priority number one is to check out the lake and see how her mission is going.  When she gets there, though, she's confronted with something she's utterly unfamiliar with.  She taps the edge of the iced-over lake with her foot and jumps back in surprise, pointing at it.]

"What the heck?  What's wrong with the lake?  Why is it... solid?"

"Ohhhhhhhhhh, I see now! So the fish can swim safely underneath!"

[She kneels down, trying to see through the ice.]

"What an amazing defensive shield! Those fish must be really smart!"
