27th Invasion

[Anyone wandering around... well, what used to be some portion of the town, since it's hard to tell now, will find Squid Girl collapsed on the ground having a horrible nervous breakdown.  Her tentacles are limp and lifeless, and she's clutching them desperately in her hands, rubbing at them and shaking them and talking to them.]

H-hey... wake up!

[She jiggles one around.  It flops about unresponsively.]

C'mon, I said wake up!  Move already!

[Nothing.  Her eyes start to well up with tears.]

Why won't they move?  Am... am I dying?

Yeah, everything else works fine.

[She takes Taiwan's hand anyway as she stands, though.]

Squid Girl's tentacles can't move, but she still looks the same. Why is that?

Anyway, we should find a safe place first, you know. [ She grips Squid Girl's hand tighter. ]

I don't know. This is what I always look like.

[She keeps a pretty tight grasp on Taiwan. Poor thing's pretty scared right now.]

Where's your family? Are you all alone?

[ She's scared too, but she can't show that in front of someone who needs her. ]

My family's all drones and this one jerk that doesn't like me.

[naicha]

Still?

[ She grips Squid Girl's hand tightly ]

Well... if you don't have anywhere else to go... would you like to stay with me?

[naicha]

Of course you can! I can't leave my ally behind.

Yeah! Allies have to stick together until the very end.

[naicha]

Yeah! So it's okay.

[ Without warning, she carries Squid Girl on her back. ]

I've got you!

Whooooaaaa!

[Squid Girl grabs on, almost falling off because of her first instinct to cling to things with her now nonfunctional tentacles. Normally she's not very touchy-feely, either, but she's come to trust Taiwan a lot, so instead she'll just enjoy the ride.]

Okay then, let's go!

[Pointing dramatically over Taiwan's shoulder! Into the distance! Toward new horizons!]

[naicha]

Let's go, let's go!

[ Taiwan chuckles at how that cheered her up. It makes her happy to see Squid Girl smiling like this. She starts walking over to whatever was left of her house. ]

My place isn't very far from here. We can stay there until things get better!
